Collagen dura membranes

Collagen dural grafts

DECOLL and DURASHEET: two dura grafts of pure Type I bovine collagen for the repair of dura mater defects. In four sizes, ready to use and gamma sterilised.

What is a dural graft?

A dural graft, also called a dura graft or dura substitute, is a material used to close a defect in the dura mater, the outer membrane that covers the brain and spinal cord. DESU's dural grafts, DECOLL and DURASHEET, are collagen membranes made from pure Type I bovine collagen and applied as an onlay.

Frequently asked questions

What are DESU dural grafts made of?

Both are made from pure Type I bovine collagen. The collagen-based structure is biodegradable and is designed to support healing during dural repair.

What is the difference between DECOLL and DURASHEET?

Both are onlay collagen dura membranes in the same four sizes. DURASHEET also has a suturable structure with high tensile strength, can be used from either surface and has a high absorption capacity.

Which sizes are available?

Four square sizes for each graft: 2.5 × 2.5 cm, 5 × 5 cm, 7.5 × 7.5 cm and 10 × 10 cm.

Does the graft need preparing before use?

No. Both grafts are supplied ready to use, with no pre-processing, and are sterilised by gamma sterilisation.

Can the grafts be used at different CSF pressures?

Yes. Both membranes can be used as an onlay at different CSF pressure levels; their impermeable pore structure forms a barrier against CSF leakage at the repair site.

Who manufactures these products?

DESU, a medical device manufacturer founded in 2007 as an R&D company at Hacettepe Teknokent, makes them in its own cleanrooms in Ankara, Türkiye. The products carry the CE mark and are made under an ISO 13485 quality management system; DESU exports to more than 50 countries.
